The ED-ICC was created by decree n°2017-098/MESRSI/SG/UO1-JKZ of March 22, 2017. It follows Burkina Faso's desire to position itself as a sub-regional leader in the training of high-level experts as well as in research on the production and management of reliable climate data. For this, Burkina Faso has received support from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for the implementation of a master's program in "Computer Science and Climate Change" (ICC). This cooperation is done through an agreement between Joseph KI-ZERBO University and WASCAL (West African Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use), supported by the BMBF.
Eventually, the master's program will evolve into a doctoral program like the eleven (11) other member schools of the WASCAL network in different countries of the ECOWAS region. Burkina Faso has therefore anticipated and displayed its ambition by creating a doctoral school in Computer Science and Climate Change to which the ICC master is attached.

The unique and the only training provided by the EDICC at the moment is the Master in Computer Science and Climate Change.

At EDICC, there is no undergraduate training. We train from the Master level.

To register for the EDICC, you must apply during the call for applications by providing all the required documents and following a pre-selection on file, you will be called for an interview and finally, if you are selected at the end of the process, you will be called and proceed to your actual registration.

The admission files will be clearly defined during the call for applications. You must scrupulously respect the terms and conditions of registration and all the instructions that will appear there.

At the moment, there are no fees because when you are selected for registration, your tuition fees are taken care of and a scholarship is offered to you.
